High in Vitamin E, sesame oil aids chronic skin
diseases, is renowned for removing wrinkles, calming the nervous system,
supporting blood circulation & aiding digestion. Uses: as a whole body self massage treatment (best practised before bathing /showering); rub into your head to nourish the scalp & rejuvenate hair; or apply before swimming to protect dry & sensitive skin from the effects of chlorine, salt & sun; as a body moisturising oil apply to warm wet skin; an ideal massage oil because of its excellent emollient properties – a little goes a long way. The art of self massage: Application of warm medicated oils or Ayurvedic Aromatherapy oils all over the body is Abhyanga pronounced a-by-unger which is Sanskrit for massage. The benefits:
Directions: pour 30mls of oil into a small bowl, sit in larger bowl of hot water & allow to warmfor 3 minutes. Apply from the feet up (including face), using a few drops on each joint. Massage should be applied according to body type: Vata - slow & settled movements; Pitta – firm; Kapha - invigorating. Use circular movements on the joints & move up & down along the limbs. Use this meditative time to focus on the breath, repeating the mantra Om Nama Shivaya which means ‘I honour the Divinity that resides in me’. Allow 10 – 30 min for this highly beneficial practice. Rasasara testimonial: I have been using the body oil and doing self-massage which is amazing! Interestingly enough I have been using the Vata body oil because of my psoriasis and my skin in combination with that, sun, sea and relaxation is on the improve! You know what, I have also stopped using a foundation on my face, something I have always worn. Just putting the Rasasara on my face every day and my skin is super clear and glowing! Love not covering my skin with foundation! Thank you!! ~Meree, Owner Wax Bar
